Nincada

Nincada is a Bug/Ground-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It is known for its unusual life cycle and its ability to burrow underground. Nincada are small, insectoid Pokémon with a body resembling a cicada. They have large, compound eyes and six legs, with the front two adapted for digging. Their coloration is typically brown and gray, allowing them to blend in with soil and tree bark.

Nincada primarily inhabit forests and dry, arid areas. They spend most of their lives underground, feeding on tree sap and nutrients from the soil. When they emerge, it is usually to molt or to find a mate. Their signature move, "Hone Claws," boosts their attack and accuracy, reflecting their sharp claws used for digging. Another notable ability is "Compound Eyes," which increases the accuracy of their moves.

A unique aspect of Nincada is its evolutionary line. At level 20, Nincada can evolve into two different Pokémon depending on its abilities. If Nincada has its Hidden Ability "Speed Boost," it evolves into Ninjask, a fast Bug/Flying-type. If Nincada has either "Compound Eyes" or "Run Away," it evolves into Shedinja, a Bug/Ghost-type Pokémon with only one HP, but with the ability "Wonder Guard," which makes it immune to all attacks that are not super effective. This split evolution is a distinctive feature in the Pokémon world. Nincada are often found in small groups and are generally timid Pokémon, preferring to flee or hide rather than engage in battle.
