Nichtholzige

Nichtholzige is a fictional municipality in the central highlands of the Veridian realm, used in regional planning and academic exercises to illustrate rural governance and development.

It covers about 52 square kilometers; elevation ranges from 420 to 580 meters; the landscape includes mixed deciduous forest and agricultural plots; the Lahnbach River runs through the valley; the climate is temperate with moderate summers and cold winters.

The first documentary mention dates to 1321 in the Veridian land register. The municipality received town rights in 1827. In the 20th century the local economy shifted from agriculture and forestry to include small-scale manufacturing and tourism.

The population is about 2,600 with a density around 50 people per square kilometer. The economy is dominated by agriculture (fruit orchards and cereals), forestry, and small timber and food-production firms; tourism focuses on nature trails and cultural heritage.

Nichtholzige belongs to the Oberland district and is administered by a 12-member municipal council with a mayor elected for a six-year term. Local landmarks include the Chapel of Saint Kilian and the castle ruins. The annual Nichtholziger Markt festival showcases regional crafts.

There is a primary school and a small library. The village is connected by regional roads; the nearest passenger rail service is in the neighboring town, with bus lines linking to Brackenau and Hohenwald.
