Nevrovitenskapelige

Nevrovitenskapelige is a Norwegian term that denotes anything related to neuroscience. It refers to the scientific study of the nervous system, from molecular and cellular processes to brain networks and behavior, and to the methods and findings that illuminate how neural activity supports perception, cognition, emotion, and action.

The field encompasses a broad range of subdisciplines, including neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neurochemistry, neurogenetics, neuroimaging, cognitive neuroscience, developmental neuroscience, computational neuroscience, and neuropsychology. Research often aims to link microscopic mechanisms such as synaptic transmission and ion channel function to macroscopic phenomena like learning, memory, decision-making, and consciousness, as well as to clinical conditions.

Methods used in nevrovitenskapelige research are diverse.
