Naturvernområder

Naturvernområder are legally protected areas in Norway established to preserve natural environments. These areas are designated to safeguard biodiversity, geological formations, unique landscapes, and ecological processes. The primary goal is to ensure the long-term survival of these natural values for scientific research, education, recreation, and the benefit of future generations.

Norway has a diverse system of nature reserves, including national parks, nature reserves proper, and protected landscapes.
