Nassätzung

Nassätzung is a German neologism formed from nass (wet) and Schätzung (estimation). The term is not part of standard dictionaries and has no fixed, universally accepted definition in major disciplines. In practice, Nassätzung is typically used informally or within sector-specific discourse to denote an estimation procedure that involves moisture or wet conditions, or that is based on wet measurements. Because there is no single formal definition, the exact meaning varies by author and context.

Possible contexts include soil science, construction materials, food technology, and meteorology, where moisture content is a relevant variable. In these domains, Nassätzung might refer to rough or rapid estimates of moisture content or water-related properties when precise gravimetric or instrumental methods are impractical, or when measurements rely on wet mass rather than dry mass.
