Napotykamy

Napotykamy is a Polish verb form used in the present tense. Napotykamy derives from the verb napotykać, itself built from the root potykać (to stumble or come upon) with the prefix na-, which adds the sense of “upon” or “toward.” In standard conjugation, napotykać yields forms such as napotykam, napotykasz, napotyka, napotykamy, napotykacie, napotykają. The form napotykamy is thus the present-tense, first-person plural of the imperfective aspect, suitable for describing general truths, habits, or ongoing processes, as well as current events described from the speaker’s perspective.

Usage. Napotykamy is commonly used for literal encounters, for example: Podczas spaceru napotykamy na znajomego.
