Nantnamed is a coastal town and port in the fictional region of Northreach, located on the eastern shore of Northsound. The origin of the name is uncertain; local tradition suggests it derives from a river bend or a former family name.

Geographically, Nantnamed has a sheltered harbor, a crescent beach known as Crescent Bay, and surrounding low cliffs. The area experiences a temperate maritime climate.

Nantnamed was founded in the late 17th century as a fishing village and gradually expanded with shipbuilding and trade. In the 19th and early 20th centuries it grew as a regional port; later economic shifts emphasized diversification.

The local economy centers on commercial and sport fishing, small-scale aquaculture, tourism, and light manufacturing. The harbor supports fishing fleets and visiting vessels.
