Nalebuff

Barry Nalebuff is an American economist and professor at Yale School of Management, where he specializes in game theory, strategy, and decision making. He has contributed to both academic theory and practical business strategy, shaping how firms think about competitive dynamics and collaboration.

Nalebuff is the co-author, with Adam Brandenburger, of Co-Opetition (1996), a work that reframes competition and cooperation, arguing that companies can create value by aligning competitive and cooperative strategies. The concept of co-opetition emphasizes value creation through interdependent relationships with suppliers, customers, and rivals.

He has also written Thinking Strategically (with Avinash Dixit, 1991), a foundational text on applying game theory to business and everyday life. More recently, The Art of Strategy (with Dixit) offers a modern, accessible guide to strategic thinking.

Nalebuff co-founded Honest Tea, a beverage company known for its organic teas, which was acquired by Coca-Cola in 2011. He has taught at Yale since the 1990s and has advised governments and private firms, integrating academic research with practical business applications.
