Nachteils is a fictional coastal town and administrative center in the Nachteils Province of the northern realm of Eldoria. It sits along the Nebelfjord and serves as the cultural and economic hub of the region.

Geography and climate: The town lies on a narrow coastal plain backed by low hills. The Nebel River flows into the fjord just north of the harbor. The climate is temperate with mild summers and damp winters.

History: Nachteils was founded in the 12th century by merchant guilds and grew as a trade entrepôt for salt, fish, and timber. Medieval walls remain around the old town, and a major storm in 1590 reshaped the harbor.

Economy: Today, fishing, shipbuilding, and seafood processing form the core of the economy. The harbor supports regional trade, while tourism concentrates on the historic streets, markets, and riverside festivals.

Demographics and culture: The population numbers around 9,000 residents. Nachteilsian, a Germanic language, is spoken alongside common regional dialects. The community is secular-minded with churches representing Lutheran and Catholic traditions.
