NAPQImetaboliittiinduced
NAPQImetabolii is a hypothetical term referring to metabolites derived from or related to the chemical compound N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine (NAPQI). NAPQI itself is a toxic metabolite of acetaminophen (paracetamol), a widely used pain reliever and fever reducer. Under normal therapeutic doses of acetaminophen, NAPQI is rapidly detoxified in the liver by glutathione. However, in cases of acetaminophen overdose, the glutathione stores become depleted, leading to an accumulation of NAPQI. This accumulation is responsible for the severe liver damage associated with acetaminophen overdose.
The term NAPQImetabolii would encompass any substances produced as a result of NAPQI's interaction with cellular
