Mérzés is a Hungarian term that translates to "bleeding" or "hemorrhage." In a medical context, it refers to the loss of blood from the circulatory system. This can occur internally, where blood escapes into body cavities or tissues, or externally, where blood exits the body through a wound or natural opening. The severity of mérzés can range from minor, such as a superficial cut, to life-threatening, involving significant blood loss that compromises vital organ function.

Causes of mérzés are varied and can include trauma, surgical procedures, gastrointestinal issues, ruptured aneurysms, and certain medical conditions like bleeding disorders.
