Määrimisviiside

Määrimisviiside refers to methods of lubrication, a critical aspect of mechanical engineering and maintenance. Proper lubrication reduces friction between moving parts, preventing wear, heat buildup, and eventual failure. There are several primary categories of lubrication methods.

One common method is boundary lubrication, where the lubricating film is very thin and direct contact between surfaces can occur. This is often used in situations where full fluid film lubrication is not possible due to low speeds or high loads. Another is hydrodynamic lubrication, which relies on the relative motion of the surfaces to create a pressurized wedge of lubricant, completely separating the moving parts. This is ideal for high-speed, low-load applications.

Mixed lubrication, as the name suggests, is a combination of boundary and hydrodynamic lubrication. It occurs when the conditions are such that neither pure hydrodynamic nor pure boundary lubrication is consistently maintained. Finally, there is solid lubrication, which uses solid materials like graphite or molybdenum disulfide to reduce friction, typically in environments where liquid lubricants would be impractical or impossible to use, such as in vacuum or at extreme temperatures.
