Myrrand is a fictional city-state located on the central island of the Aldari archipelago, commonly featured in speculative fiction and fantasy tabletop settings.

The city sits at the mouth of the Brine River, sheltered by coral reefs. It has a natural deep-water harbor and a tropical monsoon climate with a distinct dry season.

Myrrand grew from a loose confederation of harbor towns in the early medieval era; it formed a de facto republic after a maritime treaty in the 14th century and expanded through shipbuilding and spice trade. It has remained a significant maritime center in the region, adapting to changing trade routes and political alliances.

Today it is governed by a bicameral legislature called the Merchants' Council and the Urban Assembly, with a rotating magistrate chosen for one-year terms. The government emphasizes trade regulation, public works, and coastal defense, while maintaining a neutral stance in broader regional disputes.

Its economy centers on shipping, trading houses, spices, pearls, and shipbuilding. The port district, Brine Gate, connects to an inland canal system that links markets to shipyards and warehouses. The city is a node in regional trade networks and hosts several merchant fleets seasonally.

The population is linguistically diverse, with Myrrandic creole spoken alongside other Aldaran languages. Festivals include Tide Lanterns and the Sailors’ Feast. Architecture favors arcades, courtyards, and sea-facing balconies. Education is anchored by the University of Nine Pillars, which emphasizes maritime archaeology and commerce.
