Munuaispatoloogia, often translated as kidney pathology, refers to the study of diseases affecting the kidneys. It encompasses a broad range of conditions that impair the kidneys' ability to filter waste products from the blood, regulate fluid balance, and produce essential hormones. These diseases can arise from various causes, including infections, autoimmune disorders, genetic predispositions, and environmental factors.

Common kidney pathologies include glomerulonephritis, which involves inflammation of the glomeruli, the tiny filtering units within the kidneys. Another significant category is interstitial nephritis, characterized by inflammation of the kidney tubules and surrounding tissues.
