Multiscaled refers to phenomena, processes, or analyses that occur or are considered across multiple scales of space, time, or organization. This concept is prevalent in many scientific and academic disciplines, highlighting that understanding a system often requires examining it at different levels of detail or scope. For instance, in environmental science, ecological processes might be studied at the scale of a single organism, a population, an ecosystem, and a biome, with interactions occurring and influencing outcomes across all these levels. Similarly, in physics, a material's properties can be understood by considering atomic interactions, microscopic structures, and macroscopic behavior.

The application of a multiscaled approach acknowledges that properties or behaviors observed at one scale may not be directly predictable from observations at another. Emergent properties, for example, can arise at a larger scale that are not apparent from the study of its individual components at a smaller scale.
