Multifermion

Multifermion is a term used in quantum mechanics and condensed matter physics to describe a system composed of multiple fermionic particles. Fermions are a class of particles that obey Fermi-Dirac statistics, characterized by the Pauli exclusion principle which states that no two identical fermions can occupy the same quantum state simultaneously.

A multifermion system can be a collection of electrons in a solid, protons and neutrons in an atomic nucleus, or even fundamental particles like quarks. The behavior of these systems is significantly more complex than that of a single fermion due to the interactions between the particles and the constraints imposed by the Pauli exclusion principle.

Techniques like the Hartree-Fock method, density functional theory, and quantum Monte Carlo simulations are employed to approximate the solutions to the many-body Schrödinger equation for these systems.
