Mullards

Mullards are a breed of domestic duck originating from the United Kingdom, specifically developed in the early 20th century. They are named after their creator, William George Mullard, a poultry breeder from Essex. The breed was officially recognized in 1922 and is known for its distinctive appearance, calm temperament, and adaptability to various climates.

Mullards are the result of crossbreeding between male Pekin ducks and female Call ducks, producing fertile offspring. This crossbreeding results in a hardy, dual-purpose duck that excels in both egg and meat production. They are also valued for their ability to forage efficiently, making them practical for both commercial and small-scale farming.

Physically, Mullards are medium-sized ducks with a sturdy build. They typically have a white or light-colored plumage, though variations in color can occur due to genetic diversity.
