Mulchplug

Mulchplug is a term used in gardening and landscaping to describe a small plug or disk designed to be placed in mulch beds to manage mulch distribution and moisture around plants. The plug is typically made from plastic, rubber, or biodegradable materials and is sized to fit common mulch depths around trees, shrubs, and garden beds.

Typical applications include maintaining a consistent mulch depth to suppress weeds, reducing material loss due to wind and irrigation, and protecting plant crowns from excessive moisture or soil splash. Some mulchplugs are vented to permit airflow and water infiltration, while others are solid to provide greater durability and weed suppression. They can come in colors or textures to blend with the mulch or landscape.
