Mulchmähers

Mulchmähers, often referred to as mulching mowers, are a type of lawn mower designed to finely chop grass clippings and redistribute them back onto the lawn as mulch. This process, known as mulching, returns valuable nutrients to the soil, acting as a natural fertilizer. Unlike traditional mowers that collect clippings in a bag or discharge them in larger clumps, mulch mowers keep the grass circulating under the mower deck. Specialized blades with multiple cutting edges repeatedly shred the clippings until they are small enough to fall between the grass blades.

The benefits of mulching include improved lawn health and reduced waste. The finely chopped grass decomposes quickly, providing nitrogen and other essential elements to the soil. This can lead to a lusher, greener lawn and decrease the need for artificial fertilizers. Furthermore, mulching eliminates the need to bag or dispose of grass clippings, saving time and effort. However, mulching is most effective when grass is cut regularly, ideally no more than one-third of its height at a time. Cutting too much at once can result in clumps that can smother the grass and hinder decomposition. Mulchmähers are generally suitable for most lawn types and conditions, provided they are used correctly and at appropriate intervals.
