Motstandsmåling is a fundamental electrical measurement that involves determining the electrical resistance of a component or circuit. Resistance, measured in ohms, quantifies how much a material opposes the flow of electric current. Understanding and measuring resistance is crucial for diagnosing circuit problems, verifying component specifications, and designing electrical systems.

Several methods exist for motstandsmåling. The most common is using a multimeter, a versatile electronic measuring instrument. A multimeter in resistance mode applies a small voltage across the component and measures the resulting current. By Ohm's law (V=IR), the resistance can then be calculated. For very low resistances, such as contact resistances, a four-wire measurement (Kelvin sensing) is often employed to eliminate the influence of lead and contact resistances. For very high resistances, specialized ohmmeters with higher voltage sources might be necessary.

Factors influencing motstandsmåling include temperature, as resistance generally changes with temperature. Humidity can also affect readings, particularly for insulating materials. Proper technique, such as ensuring good contact between the probes and the component, is vital for accurate results. Incorrect motstandsmåling can lead to misdiagnosis of faults or improper component selection, highlighting the importance of careful and accurate measurement.
