Moonwell

Moonwell is a sacred lunar pool in the lore of the Night Elves in the Warcraft universe. The Moonwells were created by the Moon Goddess Elune as a source of healing, life, and magical energy. They are located at ritual sites throughout Kalimdor and allied lands, often near Night Elf settlements and sacred groves.

Moonwells channel lunar magic and serve as a reservoir of healing energy and mana for allied units nearby. Their waters are linked to Elune and the cycles of the moon, and rituals performed at the wells sustain forest magic and the health of the night elf people. They can be damaged, drained, or corrupted by enemies, weakening the surrounding area and interrupting rituals that rely on lunar power. The wells are typically protected by night elf guardians and are central to periodic rites that reaffirm the community’s connection to Elune.

Culturally, Moonwells symbolize the bond between the night elves and Elune, representing renewal, protection, and the sanctity of natural magic.
