Misdrawn is an adjective used to describe objects, diagrams, or illustrations that have been drawn incorrectly or inaccurately, resulting in a mismatch with the intended form, scale, or data. The term can apply across domains such as art, technical drawing, cartography, and instructional materials. While not a formal term in all contexts, misdrawn is commonly used in critique to signal errors that affect interpretation or function.

Causes include errors in measurement, misreading source references, incorrect scaling, faulty perspective or projection, and inconsistencies in conventions. Digital tools can both contribute—through snapping, misapplied coordinates, or layer mismanagement—and aid in correction through built-in verification, although a misdrawn element can propagate if checks are skipped. In maps, blueprints, and schematics, misdrawn features may lead to misplacement or faulty routing; in art or illustration, misdrawn features can distort likeness or composition.

Detection and correction rely on review processes, measurement checks against source data, and cross-validation with related drawings. In software documentation or education, the term may be used descriptively to point to a flawed figure and to emphasize the importance of accurate illustration for effective communication.
