Mindenesetben

Mindenesetben is a Hungarian adverb meaning in any case or anyhow. It is used to indicate that a statement applies regardless of other factors, or to express determination to proceed despite potential difficulties.

The term is built from minden (every) and eset (case) with the locative suffix -ben, yielding a sense of “in every case.” A closely related form, the two-word lehetőségei — minden esetre —, is common and carries a similar meaning; the single-word mindenesetben is widely used, often with a more formal or emphatic nuance.

Usage typically spans both formal and informal registers. It can introduce a clause or appear mid-sentence to reinforce resolve or inevitability. Examples: Mindenesetben ott leszek a megbeszélt időpontban. (In any case, I will be there at the agreed time.) Mindenesetben megoldjuk a problémát. (In any case, we will solve the problem.) The expression can also function as a stand-alone assertion in conversation to stress commitment.
