Miksauspöytiin, also known as mixing consoles or soundboards, are electronic devices used to combine, process, and control multiple audio signals. They are fundamental tools in audio production, live sound reinforcement, broadcasting, and many other applications where sound is manipulated. A typical mixing console features a series of input channels, each with controls for adjusting levels, equalization (EQ), panning (stereo placement), and routing signals to various outputs.

Modern mixing consoles can be analog or digital. Analog consoles offer a tactile, hands-on experience with physical controls for every function. Digital consoles, on the other hand, often use software interfaces and can offer a vast array of built-in effects, recallable settings, and advanced routing capabilities within a more compact form factor. Both types play a crucial role in shaping the sound we hear in various media and live performances.
