Microspathodon is a genus of small, vibrant reef fish belonging to the family Labridae, commonly known as wrasses. The genus contains two recognized species: Microspathodon chrysurus and Microspathodon dorsopunicans, both of which are native to the Indo-Pacific region. These fish are often found in coral reefs, seagrass beds, and lagoons, typically inhabiting shallow waters ranging from the intertidal zone down to depths of about 30 meters.
