Mesonychinae
Mesonychinae is an extinct subfamily of mesonychid mammals that lived during the Paleocene and Eocene epochs. These animals were among the earliest hoofed mammals and are considered by many paleontologists to be ancestral to modern cetaceans, such as whales and dolphins.
