MeningokokkenQuadrivalente, often referred to as MenQuadfi or Menactra in some regions, is a vaccine designed to protect against four specific types of *Neisseria meningitidis* bacteria, commonly known as meningococcus. These types are serogroups A, C, W, and Y. Meningococcal disease is a serious bacterial infection that can lead to meningitis (inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord) and meningococcemia (a bloodstream infection). These infections can be life-threatening and cause long-term disabilities.

The vaccine works by introducing weakened or inactivated components of these bacteria to the body. This stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies against these specific serogroups. If an individual is later exposed to these bacteria, their immune system will be prepared to fight off the infection, preventing or reducing the severity of the disease.
