Memóriatípusok refers to the different classifications of memory within the field of psychology and neuroscience. Memory is generally understood as the faculty of the brain by which data or information is encoded, stored, and retrieved. Psychologists and cognitive scientists have proposed various models to categorize memory based on its duration, function, and the nature of the information stored.

One of the most widely accepted models is the Atkinson-Shiffrin memory model, which proposes three distinct stages: sensory memory, short-term memory, and long-term memory. Sensory memory is a very brief storage system that holds sensory information for a fraction of a second to a few seconds. Short-term memory, also known as working memory, has a limited capacity and duration, typically holding information for about 20 to 30 seconds without rehearsal. Long-term memory is a more permanent store with a seemingly unlimited capacity and duration, holding information for extended periods.

Further distinctions are made within long-term memory. Explicit, or declarative, memory refers to information that can be consciously recalled and described. This includes semantic memory, which stores general knowledge and facts, and episodic memory, which stores personal experiences and events. Implicit, or non-declarative, memory, on the other hand, refers to unconscious memories that influence behavior without conscious recall. This category includes procedural memory, which governs skills and habits, and priming, where exposure to one stimulus affects the response to a subsequent stimulus.

Other classifications include different types of memory based on the information processed, such as visual memory, auditory memory, and spatial memory. Neuroscientific research continues to explore the underlying biological mechanisms and neural pathways associated with these various memóriatípusok. Understanding these different types of memory is crucial for comprehending learning, cognition, and the effects of memory impairments.
