Meccano
Meccano is a construction toy system that enables the building of mechanical and structural models from modular parts. The basic components are perforated metal strips and plates with a regular pattern of holes, along with angle girders, wheels, gears, and axles. Nuts, bolts, and washers join the parts, allowing adjustable joints and rotating mechanisms. Sets often include pulleys, belts, and decorative pieces to add realism. The system is designed for reuse and experimentation, with parts that can be combined in many configurations.
Meccano was invented by Frank Hornby in England and first marketed in 1898 under the name Mechanics.
Over time, Meccano diversified its ranges to include plastic components and specialized sets that illustrate engineering
