Maukhari
The Maukhari dynasty was a ruling family in ancient India, primarily based in Kannauj, a city that would become a significant power center in North India. The Maukhari rulers emerged in the late 6th century CE, often acting as feudatories to larger empires before asserting their own independence. Their rise is closely linked to the decline of the Gupta Empire and the subsequent political fragmentation of the region.
