Mannréttindadómstóll
Mannréttindadómstóll is the Faroese term for a court that deals with human rights matters. While not a standalone institution in the same way as the European Court of Human Rights, the concept of human rights is integrated into the Faroese legal system. Cases involving alleged human rights violations can be brought before the Faroese courts, which are tasked with applying both national and international human rights law. This includes interpreting and upholding rights guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights, to which the Faroe Islands are bound through the Kingdom of Denmark.
