Makroer

Makroer is the plural form of makro, a term used across several disciplines to denote something large in scale or a predefined sequence of actions in software. The root comes from the Greek makros, meaning large, and the word is borrowed into many languages, including Norwegian, where makro can refer to different concepts depending on the context.

In computing and information technology, a macro is a scripted or recorded sequence of instructions designed to automate repetitive tasks. Macros are widely used in office software to automate data processing or formatting, in development environments to speed up coding workflows, and in various applications that support macro languages such as VBA. They can greatly improve efficiency and consistency but carry security risks if sourced from untrusted origins and may cause compatibility problems when software updates change underlying behavior.

In photography, makro or macro refers to close-up imaging of small subjects. A macro lens is optimized for short focusing distances and high magnification, commonly achieving about 1:1 magnification or greater. Macro photography is popular for capturing intricate details of insects, flowers, textures, and other small subjects.
