Makhloufi

Makhloufi, full name Taoufik Makhloufi, born 29 June 1988, is an Algerian middle-distance runner who competes primarily in the 800 metres and 1500 metres. He has represented Algeria at major international competitions including the Olympic Games and World Championships.

His most notable achievement came at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he won the gold medal in the men’s 1500 metres. The victory was a defining moment for Algerian track and field, elevating Makhloufi to prominence on the world stage and contributing to broader recognition of Algerian athletes in middle-distance running.

Throughout his career, Makhloufi has competed in various global events, including World Championships and World Indoor Championships, and has been a regular member of Algeria’s national team in international competitions.
