MakerNotes
MakerNotes refers to a block of manufacturer-specific metadata embedded in the Exif data of a photograph. The MakerNotes area is created by the camera manufacturer to store non-standard, vendor-specific information that describes settings, calibrations, or other data not covered by the official Exif specification. The content and format of MakerNotes are not standardized across brands, and even between firmware versions within the same brand; as a result, the data can be difficult to interpret without vendor-specific documentation.
