Mabon
Mabon is a term with multiple meanings in Welsh culture and modern neopaganism. In Welsh mythology, Mabon mab Modron, or Mabon ap Modron, is a youth who is the son of Modron. He appears in the Mabinogion, most notably in connection with the quest undertaken by Culhwch and Arthur to win the hand of Olwen. In the tale, Mabon is held in the Otherworld by the King of Annwn and is recovered as part of the heroes’ journey. The name itself derives from the Welsh mab, meaning “son” or “boy.”
