MRItutkimukset refers to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations performed in Finland. MRI is a non-invasive medical imaging technique that uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of organs and tissues within the body. It is a valuable diagnostic tool used by healthcare professionals to detect and diagnose a wide range of conditions.

The process involves lying on a table that slides into a large, tube-shaped magnet. During the scan, the patient may hear loud knocking noises, which are normal and are caused by the machine's operation. Patients are usually asked to remain still to ensure the clarity of the images. In some cases, a contrast agent may be injected into a vein to enhance the visibility of certain structures or abnormalities.

MRItutkimukset are commonly used to examine the brain and spinal cord, joints, muscles, and soft tissues. They can help identify tumors, inflammation, injuries, and other pathologies. The safety of MRI is generally high, as it does not involve ionizing radiation like X-rays or CT scans.
