MPEGHEVC

MPEGHEVC, officially MPEG-H Part 2 and commonly referred to as HEVC or H.265, is a video compression standard developed jointly by the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) and the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG). It was standardized in 2013 as a successor to H.264/AVC, offering significantly improved compression efficiency, support for higher resolutions including 4K and 8K, and enhanced features for high dynamic range and wide color gamut content.
