Lærdommer

Lærdommer is the Danish term for lessons learned, referring to knowledge, insights, and practical guidance gained from experiences, investigations, or studies. The plural form lærdommer is used when multiple takeaways are identified from a project, process, or event. The singular lærdom can denote a single useful insight, wisdom, or principle.

In usage, lærdommer are commonly compiled after projects, operations, or research activities as part of post-implementation reviews, evaluations, or knowledge management. They aim to help organizations improve performance, reduce risk, and inform future planning by documenting what worked well and what did not, along with concrete recommendations.

Typical content of lærdommer includes areas such as objectives alignment, planning and governance, communication, stakeholder engagement, resource allocation, data quality, and decision-making processes. They are often categorized by impact and assigned responsibility for follow-up actions or process changes. In many organizations, lærdommer feed into living knowledge bases, standard operating procedures, and training programs.
