Luzhou

Luzhou is a prefecture-level city in Sichuan Province, China. It sits in the southern part of the province on the Yangtze River at the confluence with the Tuo River, forming a major river port and regional transportation hub.

Historically part of the Shu region, Luzhou has long served as an administrative and commercial center along the Yangtze corridor. In modern administration, the city governs several districts and counties and acts as a key urban center in southern Sichuan.

Economy and culture: Luzhou is best known for its baijiu production, particularly the sauce-flavor variety. The Luzhou Laojiao distillery is among China’s oldest and most famous baijiu producers, making the city a major center of the alcohol industry.
