Lstrand

Lstrand is a coastal town and municipality in the fictional country of Eldoria, situated on the western shore of the Varne Sea. It serves as a local center for fisheries, light industry, and tourism. The population is around 8,000, and the municipality covers about 15 square kilometers.

The town sits in a sheltered harbor ringed by low hills, with rocky coves and a sandy quay along the coast. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters and cool summers; average annual precipitation is around 820 millimeters.

Lstrand originated as a fishing village in the 12th century. It expanded in the 16th–18th centuries with the harbor and shipyards. The 19th and 20th centuries brought modernization of fisheries and rail connections, and in recent decades the economy has diversified toward tourism and services.

The economy centers on fishing and seafood processing, maritime services, and small-scale manufacturing. A notable institution is the Lstrand Fishing Cooperative, along with several shipyards and a sailing-cruise operator. Tourism focuses on the historic harbor district and coastal trails.

The Lstrand Lighthouse marks the harbor entrance. The Old Town Quarter preserves timber-framed houses and the 17th-century Town Hall. The Maritime Museum presents local seafaring history. The annual Sea Festival draws visitors with parades, markets, and boat parades.

The town has a sheltered harbor with ferry links to nearby islands. It is connected by regional roads to the capital and neighboring towns and is served by a small railway line. A regional airport lies 25 kilometers to the east.

Lstrand is governed by a municipal council elected for five-year terms. It belongs to the Eldorian regional prefecture and cooperates with nearby municipalities on regional planning and environmental management.
