Louiss

Louiss is a fictional town and administrative center in the country of Eldoria, in the northern Veridia region along the Liara River. It is the capital of the Valin District.

The town sits in a broad river valley at about 110 meters above sea level, with rolling hills to the north. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters, cool summers, and about 750 mm of annual rainfall.

Louiss originated around 1080 with a fortified outpost established by Count Adrien de Louiss. It received city rights in the 14th century and developed as a market town in the early modern era. Rail access arrived in the 19th century, fueling light industry.

As of the latest data, the population is about 12,400 residents.

The economy is diversified, with public administration, education, and healthcare as major employers. Local industry includes textiles, crafts, and wood products; nearby farms produce fruit and wine grapes.
