Lipolyysin
Lipolyysin is a putative lipolytic enzyme described in a limited portion of the scientific literature and in some genome annotations as a catalyst for the hydrolysis of triglycerides into glycerol and free fatty acids. It is not universally recognized as an active, experimentally verified enzyme, and its existence and function remain the subject of debate in many databases.
The term lipolyysin has appeared in speculative discussions and in a small number of sequence-based annotations.
Localization and physiological role are also matters of uncertainty. Some hypothetical models place Lipolyysin in extracellular
Current status emphasizes caution: there is no broad consensus on the enzyme’s presence, structure, or activity.
