Lieferhallen
Lieferhallen (singular Lieferhalle) is a German term used in logistics to describe a delivery hall or receiving hall within a warehouse or distribution center. It serves as the primary interface for incoming goods from suppliers and is a core component of retail, wholesale, and e-commerce logistics networks. A Lieferhalle typically houses multiple loading docks, docking bays, and supporting equipment such as dock levelers, pallet jacks, and shelving for temporary staging.
In operations, goods arrive, are documented and verified against purchase orders, and undergo basic quality checks.
There are several variants of Lieferhallen. Conventional receiving halls focus on unloading and sorting, while cross-docking
The efficiency of a Lieferhalle influences overall supply-chain performance, including inventory accuracy, delivery times, and labor
