Lepárlók

Lepárlók, also known as stills or alembics, are apparatuses used in distillation. Distillation is a process of separating components of a liquid mixture by selective boiling and condensation. Lepárlók are essential tools in various industries, including the production of alcoholic beverages, essential oils, and petrochemicals.

The basic principle of a leparló involves heating a liquid mixture in a vessel. As the liquid heats up, components with lower boiling points vaporize first. This vapor then rises and is directed into a cooling system, typically a condenser. In the condenser, the vapor is cooled, causing it to condense back into a liquid. This condensed liquid, now enriched in the more volatile components, is collected separately.

There are many types of leplárlók, varying in complexity and design depending on their intended use. Simple pot stills consist of a boiling pot, a head, and a condenser. More advanced designs, such as column stills or fractionating stills, employ multiple stages of vaporization and condensation to achieve finer separation of components. The materials used in the construction of leplárlók are also important, often including copper, stainless steel, or glass, chosen for their resistance to corrosion and their thermal properties. The efficiency of a leparló is determined by factors such as its design, the heating method, and the effectiveness of the cooling system.
