Lenxës

Lenxës is a fictional town and municipality in the Lenx River valley of the imagined country of Ardinia. Geographically, it lies at modest elevation amid rolling hills and cultivated fields, with the Lenx River running nearby and providing irrigation for surrounding farms. The climate is temperate, with hot summers and cool winters, suitable for crops such as wheat, grapes, and olives.

Lenxës has medieval roots, first mentioned in 14th-century charters. It historically developed as a farming village centered on a ford and a mill, with growth accelerated by river trade and a stone bridge built in the 16th century. In the modern era, Lenxës was reorganized as a municipality in the 1990s and today comprises several outlying villages.

The economy is primarily agricultural, supplemented by small-scale manufacturing in wood and textiles. Tourism has grown modestly, focusing on rural landscapes, hiking trails, and cultural heritage sites. The population is around 7,800 (as of 2020) and is predominantly ethnic Ardinian Albanians, with Albanian as the main language. The community supports local crafts and agricultural markets.

Governance follows a mayor-council system. The municipality is part of the Lenxës District and includes a network of local villages. Transportation relies on regional roads and bus services; there is no railway station within Lenxës, with the nearest rail link in a neighboring town. Education comprises two primary schools and one secondary school.

Landmarks include the Old Stone Bridge over the Lenx River and the Church of St. Nicholas. The Lenxës Harvest Festival, held each autumn, is a focal cultural event. Notable residents are mainly local farmers and artisans with regional recognition.
