Legjislativi

Legjislativi is an Albanian term that functions as an adjective meaning legislative. It describes things related to the making of laws or to the legislative branch of government. The term is used for institutions, processes and acts that have authority to enact, amend or repeal laws. In Albanian, the corresponding noun for the legislative body is legjislaturë (the legislature), and the legislative power is often referred to as fuqia legjislative. Common phrases include procesi legjislativ, akt legjislativ, and ndryshimet legjislative.

In typical constitutional systems, legjislativi is contrasted with ekzekutiv (executive) and gjyqësor (judicial) powers. The legislative sphere may be organized as a single chamber or as a bicameral system with an upper and a lower house, depending on the country’s constitutional design. The term also appears in discussions of lawmaking practices, legislative transparency, and accountability of representatives to citizens.
