Lanta

Lanta most commonly refers to Ko Lanta, an island archipelago in Krabi Province, southern Thailand. The archipelago comprises two main islands, Ko Lanta Yai and Ko Lanta Noi, along with numerous smaller islets. Ko Lanta Yai is the larger, with villages and beaches. The two main islands are linked by a bridge, and the archipelago sits off the Andaman coast near Krabi Town. Ban Saladan is the principal settlement on Ko Lanta Yai and serves as the main ferry terminal with connections to Phuket, Phi Phi Islands, and Krabi. The interior has a mix of forests, scrub, and cultivated land, with a coastline featuring long beaches such as Long Beach (Phra Ae) and Kantiang Bay. The southern tip of Ko Lanta Yai lies within Mu Ko Lanta National Park, which protects beaches, mangroves, and sea life.

The archipelago is popular for snorkeling, scuba diving, and boat tours; visitors can explore fishing villages,
