Lakach
Lakach is a deepwater natural gas field in the Gulf of Mexico, located in Mexican waters off the coast of Veracruz. It is part of Mexico’s effort to expand domestic natural gas production and reduce reliance on imports. The field is operated by Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) and has been developed as a flagship deepwater project in the country’s gas program, with involvement from private sector participants in various stages of planning and execution.

As of the early 2020s, Lakach had not reached commercial production, with development delayed by a mix
