LEDsignaal

LEDsignaal is a term used to describe signals conveyed by light-emitting diodes (LEDs) used as indicators in electronic equipment and systems. In practice, an LEDsignaal provides a visual indication of status, condition, or activity, such as power on, fault, processing, or connectivity. The term is commonly encountered in Dutch-language contexts and is interchangeable with concepts like LED indicator or status LED in other languages.

Operation and construction involve driving an LED with an appropriate current, typically through a resistor or a dedicated LED driver circuit to limit current and control brightness. A microcontroller, sensor, or logic circuit usually governs when the LED is on, off, or blinking. LEDs can be monochrome or multicolor, including RGB variants that can represent multiple states.
