LCoSillaattorit, or Liquid Crystal on Silicon Illuminated Array Transmitters, are advanced optical devices used primarily in laser projection systems. These devices combine liquid crystal technology with silicon-based microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) to create highly efficient and compact light modulators. Unlike traditional digital light processing (DLP) or liquid crystal display (LCD) projectors, LCoS technology offers superior color accuracy, brightness, and contrast by leveraging reflective liquid crystal layers that modulate light with minimal loss.

The core component of an LCoS projector is the LCoS chip, which consists of a thin layer of liquid crystal positioned over a reflective silicon backplane.
